Hollands Pies is a food manufacturing site, part of the Parham Manufacturing Group, specialising in pies and savoury puddings — including a wide range of pastry products, sausage rolls, and pasties.
Before Nvolve, Hollands Pies managed all of its training records on paper, and audits were a source of real pressure for the team. Matt Jones, Nvolve Lead at Hollands Pies, described the burden this created:
"Audits used to take hours to try and find everything, just for half an hour to show an auditor."
Beyond the audit strain, teams were largely left to manage their own training, and this created inconsistency across the site, with some staff working from outdated materials and little central oversight of what was actually being delivered.
Nvolve was first piloted at a sister site within the Parham Manufacturing Group, and Hollands Pies were quick to volunteer to adopt the platform themselves once they saw it in action.
Having watched other technology rollouts stumble at launch, the team deliberately held off going live until they were fully confident in the system, meaning staff only ever encountered a polished, working version from day one.
Benefits brought by Nvolve
-
Audit efficiency, with preparation that once took a full day now taking about 20 minutes, and certificates pulled up on screen instantly.
-
Consistency, with a single, uniform system standardising what training materials are used across every team.
- Proactive compliance, with team leaders monitoring their own dashboards and closing gaps before they become audit-time emergencies.
The whole process of audit preparation takes me about 20 minutes, whereas before it could have taken a whole day.
Matt Jones, Nvolve Lead at Hollands Pies
Baseline compliance across the site is measurably higher, and effort is now spread throughout the year rather than clustering in the run-up to an audit. Gaps that do appear are isolated to individuals rather than triggering whole-team catch-up sessions.
Matt summed up the shift in confidence this has brought by saying "I don't think I can understate how big the impact has been" and that the audit-prep improvement alone has transformed how the team approaches inspection readiness:
